Beginning Monday March 20th, 2017, we will donate $1.00 from every bag of our Rally Blend coffee sold online and in stores to community nonprofit organizations. Funds will be split between Ithaca Welcomes Refugees and the International Refugee Assistance Project. Both organizations provide critical, life-saving aid to refugees in New York State. The fundraiser is expected to continue throughout the year, with new community nonprofits being selected approximately every three months.

The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) is a New York City-based nonprofit that organizes law students and lawyers to develop and enforce a set of legal and human rights for refugees and displaced persons. In a statement IRAP writes: “The humanitarian crisis confronting the world demands immediate and bold action. IRAP plays a major role in ameliorating the crisis, by innovating smart and durable solutions that prove that the plight of refugees is anything but hopeless. Every $1 donated will be leveraged into $10 of life-saving legal aid for refugees.”

“We were so inspired by the immense success of the Sprudge ACLU Fundraiser last month, we wanted to keep the momentum going,” said Kevin Cuddeback, Gimme! Coffee’s founder and CEO. From February 3-5, we donated $10 to the ACLU for every bag of Rally Blend sold, raising $3420 in donations. The fundraiser, organized by coffee industry website Sprudge.com, was expected to raise $100,000. Total proceeds were over $420,000 nationwide.

“We believe that our communities are stronger when we welcome those in need and those who want to make a positive contribution—no matter where they come from. We welcome refugees and immigrants, and we support local and national efforts to defend and preserve the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States,” stated Kevin Cuddeback.

Every dollar counts. Get involved. Rally!
